For most fans, getting in your car, going to the box office and waiting in line is something fans don't want to do.

But, some consumers are skeptical about purchasing tickets online because fans cannot trust the seller.

Other ticket buyers are concerned about giving out too much information online and using credit cards online because of the unknown security measures on the website.

Ticketmaster.com is the most widely used website when purchasing tickets to any event. Ticketmaster is easy to navigate, just enter the artist, venue or team into the search box at the top of the page. The website will then provide a list of events at the venue or team. If you enter an artist into the search, it will list all the concerts and other appearances the artist will be making.

Ticketmaster also has a search feature that allows users to enter an area code. This then lists all the events sponsored by Ticketmaster that are featured in a user's location. This allows for the casual user to find an event that's taking place close by and in the near future.

Finding Tickets to Sold Out Events

If an event is sold out on Ticketmaster.com, there are many ways to purchase tickets online, but expect to pay more and don't trust every offer that is online. Stubhub.com and eBay are the two largest online ticket resellers. These two sites have the most selection and may offer the best seats in the house. Online security for eBay and Stubhub.com is solid and your information should be safe and the websites won't sell information to a third party. Visitors to the site will notice the security settings of some websites by the lower right corner of the browser window. If it shows a locked lock, then that means there's security measures in place when submitting and sending information over the web.

There are some sites that offer tickets to the same events. Ticketstub.com is one website that's similar to Stubhub, but the selection isn't as big but it's a good way to find tickets at the last minute. They do promote the more in-demand tickets on the site.

There are some other sites out there that provide cheap tickets for those not looking to spend too much money for an event, but if tickets are in demand for an event, expect to pay more. Some websites are even set up for events in specific cities.

Stubdog.com provides cheap tickets to events in New York, Dallas/Fort Worth, Los Angeles and Houston. The events include half price tickets to comedy performances, musical shows and theater tickets. They're usually cheap but there are processing costs charged by the site.

TKTS.com offers discount tickets to theater productions in New York City for students. It requires consumers go to the box offices located in Manhattan and Brooklyn. It's run by the Theatre Development Fund. It also offers vouchers and membership to its website that offers discounts on certain Broadway and off-Broadway productions.

Printing/Securing Ticket Options After Paying for Tickets Online

When purchasing tickets online, there are options on how you want to get the tickets. The newest and easiest way to get the tickets purchased online is to print them at home right after you purchase them. This convienent and provides less hastle and worry for the consumers.

Another option for getting the tickets is the will call option. This involves going to the box office at the event location. Consumers must usually provide a photo ID along with the credit card used to purchase the tickets in order to recieve the tickets from the will call window.

Purchasing tickets online is easier and it provides more users to attend the events they want to attend. Hopefully the above advice helps and it'll be easier to purchase event tickets online.
